Global Mobile, one of the six WiMAX operators in Taiwan, is poised to offer voice communication service through its WiMAX network as early as October 2010, according to the company.
WiMAX voice communications will have the advantage of lower prices and better quality of video talks than offered through 3G networks, Global Mobile pointed out.
The National Communications Commission has helped in arranging interconnection of networks of all 2G/3G mobile telecom and fixed-line telecom carriers with Global Mobile' for the voice communication service, the company noted.
