T-Mobile and Nokia Get 'Hard Core' at a Town Near You

2004 "T-Mobile Core Tour Presented by Nokia" Kicks Off with Top Athletes in Premier Action Sports and Music Festival Series

What do you get when you construct a killer vert ramp, bring in some of the world's best action sports athletes and crank up the live tunes and for a crowd of thousands of screaming fans? Answer: The ideal stage for one of this summer's hottest spectator events.

The 2004 "T-Mobile Core Tour presented by Nokia" series features pro and amateur competitions in BMX dirt jumping, skateboarding, in-line skating and mountain boarding. Add an insane Go-Ped motorized scooter competition and you've got a killer event. Throw in a live concert with some of the best up-and-coming acts and you've got an event that will rock action sports fans to their core.

Fans at the event can forget autographs; with T-Mobile's Nokia camera and video phones the best way to get a close-up of their favorite action sports star and share it almost instantly with friends is to snap a picture or record a video message with their Nokia 3660 or 6600.

The Core Tour, owned and operated by Pro Sports & Entertainment, Inc., is a free event to the public and kicks off this weekend in Venice Beach, Calif. (June 11 - 13) before heading east to South Street Seaport, NY (July 17-18) with the finale in Huntington Beach, Calif. (September 10-12). For those not lucky enough to catch the action live, the series will be televised on FOX Sports Network's award-winning Core Culture action sports television show.

The Core Tour events include:

-- King of Dirt™ Pro-Am competition for BMX dirt jumping
-- King of Dirt Big Air Challenge
-- SuperStars of Vert competition for skateboards and in-line
-- MBS Dirt Bash competition for mountain boards
-- Go-Ped ScooterCross competition for motorized scooters
-- Music Stage with live performances from top up-and-comers

In its fourth year, fans at a Core Tour event will Get More® with live product demos. Each event will feature the "Nokia T-Mobile Cool to the Core Zone" - an interactive 'hang out lounge' where fans can cool off, relax and get up close and personal with Nokia's latest gaming and camera and video handsets. Nokia Mobile Phones will feature three of their hottest handsets. The 6800 is an ideal phone for instant and text messaging with AOL, ICQ, Yahoo & MSN. The 6600 has an amazing video recorder where you can stream video and take amazing pictures. The N-Gage QD is the device to be connected to the gaming world. Check out all three new products on www.nokia.com.

Fans who are ready to jump into the world of camera phone pictures and video messages can visit T-Mobile this weekend at the Core Tour event in Venice Beach to sign-up for service and get an instant $100 rebate when they purchase a Nokia 6600 and activate on a qualifying T-Mobile rate plan. The instant rebate can also be redeemed at participating T-Mobile stores in Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, Westwood and Westside Pavilions. Offer expires June 20, 2004. Additional terms and conditions apply.

The Core Tour competitions are huge rider favorites and will help to draw the top athletes in all disciplines. The King of Dirt features the world's top BMX dirt jumpers on some of the biggest dirt obstacles ever seen. Most riders will skyrocket nearly three stories into the atmosphere and perform insane tricks like back flips, 720's (two full rotations) and Superman airs. Top riders are scheduled to appear at these events such as T-Mobile Action Sports Team athlete and 2003 King of Dirt Champion, Ryan Nyquist.

"The Core Tour is a great event to showcase the latest T-Mobile picture and video messaging services," said Mike Belcher, director, sponsorships and promotions for T-Mobile USA, Inc. "It's the best way action sports fans can show off to their friends... it's fun to not only call friends and say 'guess where I am,' but then send a picture of Ryan Nyquist pulling a backflip."

"Nokia is very excited to partner with T-Mobile to present this outstanding tour," said Jeff Harrell, director of T-Mobile Carrier Marketing for Nokia. "We are eager to show the fans our products and to interact with the athletes and crowd. We hope fans find this event as exciting as we do."
