Sonico, the Latin America Social Network, Turns 3 Years of Age and Celebrates its Anniversary Protecting and Managing the Privacy of its

48 Million Registered Users.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Sonico, the Latin American social network that organizes people's lives online while protecting their privacy, celebrates its third anniversary establishing itself as the preferred communication platform for Latin American users.

Founded in 2007 in Buenos Aires by Rodrigo Teijeiro, Sonico has more than 48 million registered users (85% of them located in Latin America), and allows individuals, organizations and brands to interact in an easy, simple, and useful way, while having control of their privacy.

Throughout these three years, this communication platform has evolved continuously to offer its users an innovative and high quality product. Among the innovations of the past year, Sonico launched the PPP system, giving each of its users the opportunity to create a public, private and/or a professional profile. In December 2009, Sonico extended the initial round of funding (usd 4.8 million), receiving usd 1.7 million additional investment, to boost the company's opened offices in Sao Paulo (October 2009) and Miami (February 2010), and to incorporate new and expert talents of the internet industry. In Sao Paulo, Alexandre de Freitas (HowStuffWorks, UOL, ABN Amro Bank, Credicard, Citibank) joined as Country Manager in Brazil, and Angel Gambino (former key executive of the social network Bebo, MTV Networks, BBC) joined as Vice President, Business Development in Buenos Aires.

In the last year, Sonico migrated its entire photo system, betting on Amazon's Cloud Computing platform; has launched a new games section, generating a 37% increase in its site activity. Another innovation was its integration with OpenSocial and the launch of Public Pages for companies, brands, politicians and celebrities giving them the possibility to join conversations and interact directly with users. A significant event for the company was the launch of the new platform for Self-serve Advertising. The network also submitted a new application for iPhone and Ovi Nokia.

In the last months, Sonico participated in relevant events, such as the 40th edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos (January 2010) and the Red Innova in Madrid (June 2010). In addition, Sonico was honored for the second consecutive year by the "Great Place to Work 2009" panel, rising from the 24th to the 19th place of the best places to work in Argentina.
