RIM Launches the White BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone in Hong Kong

New BlackBerry smartphone to be available from a wide range of retail outlets.

Hong Kong - Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) announced the launch of the white BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 smartphone in Hong Kong, which is expected to be available from August 6.

The new BlackBerry® smartphone will be available from a wide range of retail outlets throughout Hong Kong for the first time, and customers will be able to purchase the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 without a service contract.

The white BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone offers top-of-the-line performance, functionality and features, including support for 3G (HSDPA) networks around the world, a next-generation (624 MHz) processor, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi®, a 3.2MP camera and a sharp, dazzling display. The smartphone also features long battery life with music playback of up to 38 hours.
