BonitaSoft Launches the "Process Challenge" to Champion the Power of Open Source Business Process Management

PARIS -- BonitaSoft, leading provider of Open Source Business Process Management (BPM) solutions, has inaugurated a competition to promote the sharing of business process models in its user community.

With over 1,500 members, the Bonita Open Source community has experienced tremendous growth since January 2010, adding more than 1,000 new users representing nearly 150 nationalities.

The author of the winning "Process Challenge" process, to be chosen from among the most complete and re-usable business process models posted on the Bonita community website, will be awarded an Apple iPad.

Anyone is welcome to participate and is invited to join the community site http://www.bonitasoft.org. Once a member, any participant may then post processes developed in Bonita Open Solution (available for download free at http://www.bonitasoft.com) and/or can vote for those proposed by other community members.

Some examples of business processes include: purchasing management for a small business; orders and billing for online sales; management of a music festival, etc. Processes small and large, specific or general, all are welcome.

"Sharing is the basis of all open source projects such as Bonita. Today our members share many modules useful for developing a variety of business applications with Bonita Open Solution, but they may not be aware that the actual processes they develop may also be of interest to others. Many business processes are similar from one organization to another," says Rodrigue Le Gall, co-founder of BonitaSoft and leader of the Bonita community.

The "Process Challenge" is intended to encourage members of the community who face similar issues to share both their business process models and business applications generated by Bonita Open Solution.

"This is also an excellent opportunity for participants to highlight their mastery of BPM tools in general and Bonita Open Solution in particular, be recognized within the community, and raise their professional visibility," adds Rodrigue Le Gall.

This contest is open to all: computer science professionals, students, retirees; consultants - and to business professionals as well. Anyone with a process to show off is encouraged to give it a try!
