Ashworth College Expands Board of Directors; Appoints Jill Wine-Banks to Board

NORCROSS, Ga., -- Ashworth College, a leader in online education, announced that it has appointed Jill Wine-Banks to its Board of Directors.

Wine-Banks brings to Ashworth (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu) her expertise as a corporate executive, attorney and not-for-profit leader. She has extensive experience in international business development, financial operations, alliance creation and management across a variety of industries to include education, government, manufacturing and telecommunications.

Having held several corporate posts with top corporations such as Motorola and Maytag, Wine-Banks also served as Officer of the Chicago Public Schools where she was responsible for career and technical education. Her innovations there included the creation of DeVry Advantage Academy, where students can simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college associate degree. Additionally, she served as General Counsel of the United States Army and was one of three Watergate Special Prosecutors responsible for the main Watergate trial.

Wine-Banks is a frequent speaker for professional and business groups and she has been the recipient of many awards, including from the Pentagon, the United States Department of Justice, and The European Economic Communities Commission, as well as awards from the Girl Scouts and the YWCA. She is also included in numerous editions of Who's Who. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Communications from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in New York City.
