AppDynamics Reports More Than 5,000 Downloads of AppDynamics Lite, Its Free APM Solution

The no-cost Java application performance troubleshooting tool has been downloaded by thousands since first offered in May 2010.

SAN FRANCISCO -- AppDynamics, Inc., the next-generation Application Performance Management (APM) company, announced that the free edition of its solution, AppDynamics Lite, has surpassed 5,000 downloads since it was first offered on May 10, 2010. Thousands have visited www.appdynamics.com/free to download this powerful tool and aid their IT operations and development teams in supporting Java applications in high-volume cloud, virtual and physical environments. Companies that have downloaded the free version include Ikea, Nokia, MasterCard, Dell, FranklinCovey and Samsung.

"The momentum we've seen in the last 100 days gives strong evidence of the untapped market demand for APM solutions. There is clearly a need for a powerful, yet simple to implement, APM solution that can address the challenges of distributed, web-based applications," said Jyoti Bansal, AppDynamics CEO and Founder. "Our core technology is now being used by thousands of companies all over the world and has been battle-tested in production on every kind of java application server and application stack. As a result, we've been able to compress years of product feedback into only a few months."

AppDynamics Lite equips IT teams with the ability to easily and accurately manage distributed applications in production, without adding excess overhead. When problems arise that affect end-user satisfaction, the operations and development teams can rapidly troubleshoot and diagnose application performance problems within minutes. The tool takes only two minutes to install and immediately identifies typical application issues such as slow SQL, stalls, errors, and slow response time.

"The free download offered by AppDynamics has been a boon to our ability to evangelize AppDynamics in the Western European market," said Russell Luke from Application Performance. "We've found that once a company sees the technology and understands how it can troubleshoot java performance, they immediately want to learn more about AppDynamics' commercial product."

"Our goal has always been to empower IT operations and developers to combat performance problems, whether or not they are ready to commit to a full APM solution," said Bansal. "We'll continue to offer AppDynamics Lite for free as we evolve our full AppDynamics solution."

AppDynamics Lite remains available to download at no cost directly from www.appdynamics.com/free.
